 Curriculum overview: Our students are currently working on the following concepts;

MathWe will be studying data collection.  This unit focuses on making, reading and interpreting graphs.  Then the students will learn about three dimensional shapes in Geometry.  Finally, the students will begin to prepare for third grade with a review of all the concepts that were taught this year.

Writing: We have been learning about different styles of poetry. Some of the styles we have constructed include limericks, haiku's, acrostic, free verse, shape poems, and lanterns! We are also working on including poetic devices such as, simile's, metaphor's, alliteration and figurative language.

Language Arts: We have also been reading lots of different styles of poems from various authors.  After poetry, the students get to read another novel.  This time it will be "Stink!"  This is a fun book to conclude the year on and we will have some fun projects planned.

Science: Conducting inquiry-based experiments to learn about nutrition, as well as revisiting plants.

Social Studies: We will be learning all about Bethel. We have also been studying communities and the organization of society through our Junior Achievement program.
