There are now two avenues through which students may receive college credit for successfully completing certain mathematics courses outside of the Advanced Placement Program. Students receive information concerning both programs in their math classes in September.

Western Connecticut State University Coop Program

Students need to fill out an application and pay a fee in September for the fall semester January for the spring semester in order to qualify.

Students who successfully complete the full year of AP Calculus BC can receive a total of 8 college credits (4 credits per semester) from WCSU

Students who successfully complete the full year of AP Calculus AB or Calculus 42 may receive 4 college credits from WCSU

Students who successfully complete the full year of AP Statistics or Statistics 42 may receive 3 college credits from WCSU

College and Career Pathways Program (CCP) at Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC)

Beginning in the fall of 2012, students in Algebra II who have earned at least a B average in Algebra I, attain a B average in Algebra II for the full year, and pass the Mathematics Accuplacer college entrance test may receive 3 college credits from NVCC for Intermediate Algebra. Application details will be available fall 2012.
