Student Government Officers:

President - Kathryn K.

Vice President - Eric T.

Treasurer - Thomas S.

Secretary - Drew Z.

Student government is the student governing body of our school. It is an organization that links students with the administration and staff to present opinions and interests of the student body. It also functions to promote friendships amongst all students in the general spirit of friendliness at our school.

The club’s goals are to increase school spirit and unity, promote friendships among students, develop communication among students, administration and staff, encourage participation in school and community service projects, and develop leadership skills. It is comprised of two representatives from each grade level, a president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. Representatives are elected by their classmates by popular vote in homeroom.

Students running for student government office are required to submit an application, along with the signatures of teachers recommending them. Following an assembly for nominees to read their speeches to the student body, students vote for candidates by secret ballot. Once officers are elected, meetings are held throughout the school year to organize school activities and service projects. In addition, officers meet periodically with the principal to discuss issues of interest to students, such as school policies and rules. Representatives are required to attend all meetings and report information back to homeroom students.
